The Basque Government has renewed its Industrial Machinery Upgrade Scheme, a move by basque industry to improve productivity, safety and competitiveness.

The 2017 scheme is backed by €9m. The grant application period runs from Friday 30 June to 31 October, or whilst funds last. 891 Basque companies have benefited from the scheme since it was first launched in 2014, with a total of €320.83 million euros invested. The main beneficiaries of the program are SMBs seeking to upgrade their machinery, and who decide to renew and modernise it. Subsidies of up to €70,000 per machine are available. Subsidies cover 15% of the machine purchase price, up to a maximum of €70,000 per machine, with a maximum of €100,000 per company (in the event of multiple machine purchases).
